Revell shines but Millers dip

TWO goals from new signing Alex Revell weren’t enough to save Rotherham United from their first league defeat of the season today.

They went down 3-2 at Swindon Town in a live TV clash, with both teams ending the game with ten men.

Fresh in from Leyton Orient, Revell marked his debut by heading the Millers into a 21st minute lead before Matt Ritchie equalised before half time with a shot that took a deflection off Tom Newey.

Revell powered in another head to make it 2-1 midway through the second half but Danny Schofield was sent off for picking up a second yellow card shortly after and Swindon took advantage to equalise almost immediately through Alan Connell.

The substitute then popped up to make it 3-2 on 81 minutes and although his team-mate Alberto Commazi joined Schofield for an early bath in the dying minutes, the Millers were not able to force an equaliser.

They sit second in the League Two table on goal difference behind Crawley.

Millers: Logan, Marshall, Newey, Cresswell, Raynes, Schofield, Harrison, Bradley (Taylor 80), Evans (Wiliams 62), Revell, Grabban (Tonge 76).
