Revell delighted to extend stay

STRIKER Alex Revell says he is pleased to have extended his stay at Rotherham United after signing a new two-year contract.

Revell, who signed for the Millers in August 2011 from Leyton Orient, yesterday put pen-to-paper on a deal that will keep him at the club until 2015.

After topping the scoring charts in his first season at the club, he has featured on 44 occasions this campaign, netting six times, including the winner against AFC Wimbledon recently.

He said: "I'm delighted to get the chance to stay. It was a no-brainer due to what's happening at the club with it being an exciting time and I've had great support while I've been here.

"Hopefully we can get the club back to where it belongs, which we'll do by getting into the next league and hopefully doing the same again the following year."

Millers chief Steve Evans said: "Since I arrived, Alex has been outstanding. His performances have seen many clubs register an interest but within minutes of making it clear I wanted him part of our future, the lad wanted to sign to stay."
