Redfearn delighted with Hyam capture

MANAGER Neil Redfearn says new arrival Luke Hyam can give the Millers extra options.

The 24-year-old from Ipswich Town has signed on loan until January as he steps up his comeback from a serious knee injury he picked up at the beginning of the year.

A product of Town's youth system, he is highly regarded at Portman Road and Redfearn believes that the combative midfielder has the credentials to help Rotherham's Championship survival fight.

He told the Advertiser: "Luke fits in with the type we want. He's competitive, he's an established Championship player and he gives us more competition for places. He also gives us a different way of playing in a 4-4-2 or a 4-5-1 if we want to be more solid."

Hyam has clocked up approaching 100 appearances for Ipswich and will be in contention for his Rotherham debut at home to Bristol City on Saturday.
