Reality check, says Bester

TITANS chief Andre Bester says Rotherham's defeat at Cornish Pirates was the result of silly mistakes - but it's not the end of the world.

Rotherham's impressive run came to an abrupt end with a 30-13 defeat as Pirates made the most of poor decision making and key blunders. The Mennaye Field men went top of the Championship as a result.

The Penzance side led 20-6 at the break, Titans being guilty of gifting two scores and struggling to find the form that has propelled them into the upper reaches of the table.

Garry Law scored two penalties and when Semisi Taulava broke through to score after the break it looked as though a comeback was on the cards.

But Pirates quickly hit back with a bonus point try to end their hopes.

Said Bester: "We gave them too many points and that was the difference.

"But it is a bit of a reality check for us and we will have to make sure we learn from it."
