Question of focus for Redfearn

ROTHERHAM United chief Neil Redfearn is warning his players not to get too far ahead of themselves as they go in search of some big Christmas points, starting against Bolton Wanderers on Boxing Day.

After being locked in the Championship relegation zone for most of the season, Saturday's shock victory over Hull City has given the Millers a chance to climb out of the mire ahead of the home clash with rock bottom Bolton and next Tuesday's match at Fulham.

While Redfearn would love to be out of harm's way come the final few weeks of the season, he stresses it is important to  keep calm heads and don't get too high – or low – after wins and defeats.

“We have to focus on what's in front of us, it would be a mistake to look any further,” he said.

“We've won three out of the last six and I think we're about eighth in the form table and that's getting on for play-off form. If we take nine points from 18 from each clutch of six then we will be doing OK."

Saturday's match will come too soon for defender Stephen Kelly. A calf injury forced him off against Hull but he is expected to be fit in time to face Fulham.
