Plenty of interest in Titans job

A STRONG list of candidates has come forward to succeed Lee Blackett as head coach at Rotherham Titans — with interest from as far afield as Australia.

A week after it was announced Blackett was leaving to become backs coach at Premiership Wasps this summer, the applications are totting up.

The club has stressed that no decision will be made until the season is over because the priority is to make sure Rotherham make it into the Championship's promotion play-offs.

But when the Titans board does sit down to decide on an appointment, they won't be spoilt for choice.

Chairman Nick Cragg told the Advertiser: “We've had a lot of interest in the post, including an experienced international coach from Australia.

“It would be unfair for me to name names, suffice to say we have had a broad church of applications and some top coaches and recognised names have put their hats in the ring."
