PICTURE GALLERY: Runaway success for young athletes

YOUNGSTERS from across the borough took part in  Rotherham Harriers’ In2 Athletics event at Herringthorpe, aimed at unearthing growing talent.

Over 150 schoolchildren from 5-16 competed in a series of events on Tuesday and as a result 15 will be invited to join the club, when they will be able to compete against other athletes from across the country.

Harriers’ Satellite Clubs are currently running from Maltby Leisure Centre, Aston Leisure Centre, Wath Leisure Centre, Herringthorpe Stadium and Dinnington Comprehensive school for children from five upwards. It is a partnership with England Athletics and South Yorkshire Sport, who co-funded the event.
