Owls make third bid for Le Fondre

ROTHERHAM United are understood to have turned down a third bid from Sheffield Wednesday for striker Adam Le Fondre.

The Owls, who have already had offers of £200,000 and £250,00 rejected, reportedly came in with a third bid of around £300,000.

The Millers are understood to want at least £500,000 for the 24-year-old, who has started the season in good form, scoring four goals to add to the 54 he has netted in the last two years in Rotherham colours.

Earlier this month, Millers chairman Tony Stewart told the Advertiser: "My view is straight-forward—if clubs can't afford to pay the asking price then we can't afford to part with him."

The August transfer window shuts next week.
