Outgoing players won't hit us: Titans

TITANS head to Leeds Carnegie on Sunday for a must-win Championship play-off game—with head coach Andre Bester insisting that the impending departure of several key players won’t derail their campaign.

Last season, the Rotherham play-off bid disintegrated badly, but the club are adamant that won’t be the case this time around.

Leading players Robin Copeland, Sam Dickinson and Sean Dougall are to join top clubs Cardiff, Northampton and Munster respectively while Semisi Taulava and Rob O’Donnell have signed for Premiership Worcester.

Said Bester: It’s part of the process of playing for Rotherham that top clubs will be looking at our players, but they will give their all until the end of the season.

“Players come here in the knowledge that they will become much better, providing they do their best for the club. The fact that these five are moving on means that others will recognise what we can do for their and it becomes a key aspect of our own recruitment process.”

Titans are already looking at several prospective newcomers for next year but, before then, this Sunday’s Sky TV clash at Headingley becomes a priority.
