Runners take on Round Rotherham challenge

COMPETITORS go to the start line for the Rowbotham's Round Rotherham event tomorrow.

The 40th in the series includes a 50-mile run, walk and relay trail event and starts out from 7am at Manvers Waterfront Boat Club at Wath for the runners doing the full distance and as early as 4am for slower walkers and 6am for walkers and joggers. The relay has a mass start at 8am.

The route includes Grange, Treeton, Harthill, Woodsetts, Firbeck, Maltby and Hooton Roberts before winding its way back to Manvers.

First male home last year was Kevin Hoult of Calder Valley FR in 7:06.33.

Michelle Harle (Rotherham Harriers) was first female in 9:58.05.

There are around 250 individual entries this year.
