O'Connor joins Millers

NORTHERN Ireland international Michael O'Connor has become Rotherham United's sixth signing of the summer.

The 24-year-old has agreed a two-year deal at the New York Stadium after joining from Scunthorpe United. He played 36 times for the League One outfit last season, netting twice, and has previous experience at Crewe Alexandra, where he came through the youth system.

O'Connor said: "I spoke to Steve Evans, met up with him on Wednesday, and within ten minutes I'd made my mind up. It's a stepping down a league coming to League Two but it wasn't a tough decision because everyone I spoke to about the club said it was going places."

O'Connor joins fellow new arrivals Daniel Nardiello, Kayode Odejayi, Nicky Hunt, Ian Sharps and goalkeeper Scott Shearer.
