NYS stop-off for marathon man Benali

FORMER pro footballer Francis Benali drops into Rotherham today as part of a mammoth nationwide charity trek for Cancer Research.

The one-time Southampton defender (47) is aiming to run/cycle to every Premier League and Championship club in just two weeks.

He is due at the AESSEAL New York Stadium at 3.15pm this afternoon and is set to be greeted by Millers staff, cancer survivors and other well-wishers.

Rotherham United manager Alan Stubbs said: “It is an incredible challenge for a very worthy cause so I hope our fans will turn out to greet him and donate generously.

“Cancer is a disease which touches everyone and I wish Franny well on what will be an unbelievably difficult and painful feat. As a club we are proud to support him and I hope everyone will dig deep.”
