New date expected for Millers' snow-hit fixture

ROTHERHAM United are expected to announce a new date for Saturday's postponed match against Exeter City in the next 24 hours.

The most likely is Tuesday, April 9, because the only other free midweek date falls during the last week of the season when the Football League are reluctant to arrange games.

Saturday's match was called off just before 10am for safety reasons, with snow having drifted into the stands and a thick covering in the car parks and around the ground. There were also concerns about travel disruption.

Answering an appeal for help, supporters had turned up to help clear the snow and the club has thanked them for their efforts.

The latest postponement, the Millers' sixth this season, leaves them with seven games to play in April.

They return to action at home to AFC Wimbledon on Friday (3pm).
