New chairman plans to kick-start exciting new era at Kiveton Miners Welfare FC

A FOOTBALL club is being given a new lease of life under new ownership.

Kiveton Miners Welfare FC is set to embark on a “thrilling journey of transformation” under new chairman Mohamed Almaysari.

Miners are to partner with Sheffield Town FC, allowing them to pool their resources, expertise, and staff to create a vibrant football environment and growth for players seeking opportunities at home and abroad.

The club’s first team will continue in the Central Midlands League and there will be a reserve team in the Sheffield and Hallamshire County Senior League.

The chairman said: "We will add youth teams and try to create a women’s team as well. The involvement of the community is essential.

“My primary goal is to build a strong bond between the club and the people of Kiveton, ensuring that football becomes a unifying force, inspiring and empowering the local community and giving back to those who love this club and it’s historic roots.”

The new chairman has the blessing of his predecessor Kieran Gallagher – now Maltby Main FC chairman – who left the club recently after three years at the helm.
