Morgan and Pringle turn down new deals

ROTHERHAM United have been hit with a double blow after news emerged this morning that captain Craig Morgan and fans favourite Ben Pringle will not be renewing their contracts with the club.

Both players’ contracts expired at the end of the season and they were offered ‘new and improved’ deals,  but they have been turned down and they will now be in the hunt for new clubs.

Morgan and Pringle both played big parts in keeping the Millers in the Championship last season after helping Rotherham to two successive promotions in the years before.

Pringle, who was signed by former manager Andy Scott, leaves Rotherham after playing 168 games in total and scoring 22 goals.

Skipper Morgan appeared 105 times for the Millers, scoring just once in his three years at the club.

Evans told the club website: “I was informed by Paul Douglas late on Wednesday evening that at this stage we have been unable to agree terms with either of the lads or their representatives.

“I am obviously disappointed that both have decided to move on from what has been a simply stunning three year period for both players.

“I am not privy to the actual detail, as those negotiations are conducted by our chief operating officer.

“On behalf of everyone at Rotherham United we would like to thank both for their service and we wish them well for the future.”
