'Mistakes can be rectified' says Stubbs

MANAGER Alan Stubbs is confident that the mistakes contributing to Rotherham United's early-season problems can be sorted out.

Stubbs put three of the goals in Saturday's 4-2 defeat at Blackburn Rovers down to basic errors and will be looking for a vast improvement at home to Cardiff City this weekend.

While the Millers are unbeaten at home in the league, four successive away defeats have hampered their attempts to climb away from the lower reaches of the Championship.

Stubbs said: "When you look at the away form, even last season, it was an area that needed to improve. The only way to do that is by stopping making fundamental errors.

"They're not mistakes that can't be rectified, because they are so fundamental, but they keep recurring too often.

"The players are the ones who have to look at themselves. They have done well at times but they have to be better overall."

Meanwhile, senior pros Will Vaulks, Richard Wood, Joe Newell and Anthony Forde had a run-out in the reserves' 2-1 defeat at Hartlepool yesterday. Kuda Muskwe scored the reply.
