Misery for Millers at Burton

ROTHERHAM United lost 2-0 at Burton Albion this afternoon and ended the game with nine men after David Noble and Michael O’Connor were sent off.

Noble was dismissed just before half time for two bookable offences while O’Connor was shown a straight red card four minutes from time for a challenge on Jacques Maghoma.

By then the Millers trailed to two goals from Billy Kee despite upping their game while a man short.

The striker fired home his first on the turn on 36 minutes and then doubled the hosts’ advantage ten minutes after half time with a strike into the far bottom corner.

O’Connor’s sending-off was fiercely disputed but the resulting penalty by Michael Symes was saved by Andy Warrington.

It was Rotherham’s first away league defeat since November.
