Millers' unbeaten run ended by Rovers

ROTHERHAM United’s final home game of the season ended in disappointment as their unbeaten run was ended by Blackburn Rovers.

An early goal from Shane Duffy separated the teams and inflicted a first defeat in 12 games, with Lee Camp excelling with a string of good saves.

The Millers were left playing catch-up as early as the sixth minute when Duffy headed in from a corner and although Camp stuck out a leg to stop Danny Graham adding a second, there was little between the teams in the first half.

The best move of the half ended with Grant Ward stinging the palms of Jason Steele from distance and right on the whistle Leon Best somehow managed to put a far-post header wide when it looked easier to score.

Rovers, defending deep, continued to invite Rotherham on in the second half but carried much more threat .  Camp rushed out to thwart Jordi Gomez and somehow clawed out a header from the Blackburn danger man. The reliable stopper also diverted a drive from Elliott Bennett onto a post.

Neil Warnock introduced the fregs legs of Jerome Thomas and Danny Ward in attack to try to force an equaliser but it wasn’t to be,  the consolation being that the Millers will again be kicking-off in the Championship in August.
