Millers strive for consistency

ROTHERHAM United to go Accrington Stanley tonight aiming to shake off their inconsistency and make a sustained challenge at the top of League Two.

Yet to string two league wins together, the Millers have the chance to do that at the Crown Ground and pull level on points with their Lancashire rivals.

Assistant manager Paul Raynor will again take charge of the team in the absence of Steve Evans, serving the fifth of his six-match stadium ban.

And after the boost of Saturday's 3-1 win against Oxford, Raynor hopes it can be a springboard for a successful run.

He said: "If you are going to be successful in this or any division, you need to string results together and go on unbeaten runs of five or six games. That's what the top teams do and we need to get into those runs.

"It's no good winning one, losing one and drawing one. We need to consistently win or draw games and go unbeaten and that's what we're striving to do."

While winning four out of five at home, Rotherham will be chasing their first away victory tonight.

Kick-off is 7.45pm.
