Millers strike late to grab points

ROTHERHAM United struck three late goals to end their barren away run with a 4-2 victory at Burton Albion this afternoon.

Strikes by Marcus Marshall, Adam Le Fondre and Jason Taylor turned the match on its head in the last 15 minutes after the Millers had trailed 2-1 at half time and saw the home side miss a penalty.

Greg Pearson had put the Brewers ahead inside the first minute before Johnny Mullins popped up at the other end to head the equaliser; his first goal for the club.

Aaron Webster fired Burton back into the lead just after the half-hour mark and they should have made it 3-1 early in the second half when the same player hit the bar with the penalty awarded for a foul by Marshall.

The miss prompted the Millers to up their game and their late surge was rewarded by their treble blast, ending a run of five successive away defeats and propelling Ronnie Moore’s men back into the automatic promotion frame in League Two.
