Millers' rallying call

ROTHERHAM United are calling upon supporters to turn out in force for tomorrow's mouthwatering clash with league leaders Gillingham.

Now sitting just outside the automatic promotion frame in League Two, the improving Millers can pull within four points of the Gills with a victory at the New York Stadium.

The division's match of the day, it is a major challenge and manager Steve Evans says the players need all the backing they can get.

He said: "Our crowds have hovered around 8,000 for the big games and we need tomorrow's to be the top end of that if not more.

"This is a real test of Rotherham United on and off the pitch. Gillingham are an outstanding side. They've been top since the start of the season and they are capable of coming here and beating us.

"If our supporters want to know what it's like to be top of the league then they'll find out tomorrow but it's one we can win if everyone is on their game and the fans can play a major part."

Evans added that a good result would be the perfect lead-in to Tuesday's FA Cup second-round replay at Notts County.
