Millers put six on shopping list

ROTHERHAM United have up to half a dozen names on their New Year shopping list as manager Neil Redfearn looks to bolster his threadbare squad.

Defender Farrend Rawson and midfielder Lee Frecklington are the latest to join the casualty list and will both sit out tomorrow's FA Cup third round tie against Leeds United.

The Millers have also lost the services of Tony Andreu, who has returned to parent club Norwich City after the end of his half-season loan deal. He is part of the Canaries' plans and is set to stay at Carrow Road.

Redfearn needs to make the most of the January transfer window and hopes to have one or two new faces in by the weekend but is at the beck and call of other clubs.

“We're trying to get people in and we've identified five or six targets,” he said.

“We've made contact with clubs but they don't want to deplete their squads and they want to get people in before they'll move players on."

Full-back Frazer Richardson is also available again after sitting out last week's agonising defeat at Preston with concussion but experienced defender Stephen Kelly is still a doubt.
