Millers look for momentum

ROTHERHAM United tackle their second local derby in a week when they play Bradford City at the New York Stadium on Saturday.

Fresh from a 1-1 draw at Chesterfield at the weekend, Steve Evans' side will be looking to regain some momentum having having collected four points from nine in League Two so far.

Kayode Odejayi's second-half strike at the Proact Stadium cancelled out Jordan Bowery's early opener for the Spireites on a ground where the Millers were whipped 5-0 on their last visit 18 months ago.

Winger Lionel Ainsworth, recalled to the starting line-up, said: "The fans wanted revenge and it was one of those days when pride is at stake and you want to win.

"I think we were unfortunate but at the same time we rode our luck. The lads showed a bit of character but we did well to get the goal and we could have gone on to win it.

"It's another point on the board and we'll look to bounce on to this weekend."

The Bradford match is set to attract another bumper crowd in excess of 10,000, following the turnout of 11,441 for the league opener at the New York Stadium a fortnight ago.

Rotherham are at home again on Tuesday (7.30pm) when they host York City in the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
