Millers braced for busy February

ROTHERHAM United kick off a busy February with a trip to top-end rivals Port Vale tonight.

The game is the first of seven this month, with the likes of Crewe, Gillingham, Oxford and Shrewsbury to follow.

Ronnie Moore said: "It's a massive month against a lot of good teams who are going to be there or thereabouts but if we continue playing the way I know we can play then we are a match for all of them."

Vale have slipped out of the top three after a poor run of results and a win for the Millers this evening would open up a seven-point gap between the teams in League Two.

Moore is expected to go with the same starting 11 who beat Stockport County 4-0 on Saturday, which means another start for Tom Newey at left-back and a second outing for new signing Ian Thomas-Moore.

The Millers, meanwhile, rejected a transfer deadline day approach from Huddersfield Town for striker Adam Le Fondre, with Rotherham insisting they want to keep their best players.

Le Fondre has opted not to sign a new contract in favour of running down his existing one, which has 18 months to run.
