Millers ace keen to muck in

BEN Pringle insists he has nothing to prove in a Rotherham United shirt, despite his recent spell out of the starting line-up.

The creative midfielder came on as a second half substitute against York City on Tuesday and claimed an excellent assist for Daniel Nardiello’s stoppage time equaliser.

Pringle (23) hasn’t started a game since the 2-0 away defeat at the hands of Burton Albion at the start of February but he is still confident about what he brings to the Rotherham United table.

“I’m the second top scorer and the second top in the assist charts and I’ve played more games than anyone just about – so I don’t think I need to prove anything,” he said.

“That’s not being big headed but I hadn’t played for a couple of games and that’s probably done me good, I feel better and fresher now so obviously I was happy to help the lads get a point.”

Rotherham, meanwhile, will run a late check on striker Daniel Nardiello (groin) before tomorrow's match away to Southend United while winger Daniel Kearns (hamstring) misses out. He might be pushing for a start at Oxford United on Tuesday though.

Manager Steve Evans added: ""If we are coming back from Oxford having collected four points from there and Southend then it will have been a good four days for us."
