The new-look leage structure will see the top five clubs hived off after the first round of matches to compete in the inaugural Super Fives. The rest will do battle with the top five clubs in the second division in the Championship section to fight for their place in the top flight next year.

Metro will have to compete in the Champiosnhip after finishing second from the bottom, with the six points docked for a registration infringement having bitten them badly.

They completed their regular season at Loughborough over the weekend, when they started with a 14-9 win over Invicta on Saturday only to lose to leaders Cheltenham 24 hours later.

They will now be joined in the Championship by 2010 champions Bristol and Invicta.
