Louise targets Olympic place

SPRINTER Louise Bloor is on countdown for the new outdoor season and admits she’s in the perfect frame of mind as she aims for Olympic qualification.

The 26-year-old from Maltby has targeted a place in the ultra-competitive 200m and has to lower her personal best by less than half a second to be in with a shout of booking her ticket for the London showpiece.

But Louise’s says training, under the experienced Toni Minichello, has gone well since a highly-productive indoor season finished and she’s now ticking the days off to the outdoor opener, which will start with a bang at the plush new Olympic Stadium on May 5.

Louise will take part in the showpiece British Universities and Colleges Sport championships—one of half a dozen events before the selection deadline for the Games.

“I’ve decided to focus on the 200m this year and I’m looking forward to the outdoor season,” said Louise.
