Lee claims first title

FIGHTER Lee Appleyard has claimed his first title — and manager Dave Coldwell says there are more to come.

The 28 year old from Bramley carded his eighth win from nine and claimed the International Challenge Belt by stopping Croatian Antonio Horvatic in the second round at Doncaster Dome.

It was a show of strength from Appleayrd with Coldwell confident that the Stefy Bull trained lightweight can now kick on.

“Lee looked in top shape and was really powerful,” said Coldwell.

“He’s really got the bit between his teeth now and if he keeps training hard then we’ll see how far he can go."
