Keep it up, says Scott

ROTHERHAM United chief Andy Scott is challenging his side to finish their festive programme with a flourish to set themselves up for a fresh push up League Two in the new year.

The Millers have lost just one of their last nine league games, with Monday's goalless draw at Macclesfield Town leaving them three points off the play-off frame as the midway point of the season approaches.

Tomorrow night's toughie at second-place Cheltenham Town is followed by a Yorkshire derby at home to Bradford City on Monday. And with an enforced break after that of nearly a fortnight until the next match at home to Swindon on January 14, Scott is keen that United go into their mini winter break in a good position

He said: "There's a determination among the players to make sure we stay in touch and start picking teams off.

"There's some big games coming up over the new year. If we can go and get a positive result against Cheltenham and another one against Bradford then that will put us in a really good position to get ready for Swindon on January 14.

"It's a busy time for us and we need to balance work and rest but we're ready for it."
