Justin's glee tempered as row erupts

JUSTIN Wilson has become embroiled in a row following his win in the IndyCar series in Texas a fortnight ago—when his car was deemed to have illegal parts.

The Rotherham racer’s delight at his first victory on an oval circuit was tempered when a post-race inspection revealed unapproved bodywork.

Wilson was docked five points by IndyCar chiefs and his Dale Coyne Racing was fined $7,500 for failing the inspection.

Wilson said IndyCar technicians caught one of the illegal parts on his car, rear wheel backing plates, which his team promptly took off.

But he added that leaving a illegal top infill panel on the car without his team or race officials catching it was "embarrassing. “
