ROTHERHAM  United chief Andy Scott says he understands supporters' frustration at the team's faltering form, admitting: "I'd boo too."

Many vented their anger at the manager as the Millers slipped to their third defeat in four games to Port Vale amid a chorus of boos at Don Valley Stadium on Saturday.

The 1-0 loss left them in the bottom half of League Two and five points off the play-off frame, with Scott admitting he was as frustrated as the supporters.

He said: "I can understand their frustrations. I'd boo that; it was poor. They pay their money and are entitled to voice their displeasure. We know we're better than that and they know as well.

"The Rotherham public have had a lot to contend with over the last few years. They want to see light at the end of the tunnel and I want to be the one to give them that hope and I want them to stick with us.

"I can't change opinions but I want them to come back and support us because the club deserves it and the chairman deserves it and I think we deserve it, but we've got to prove it to the fans by putting on performances every Saturday and this time  we didn't do that.

"I don't believe we're doing anything wrong Monday to Friday; it's on a Saturday, certainly at Don Valley, that we're not producing the goods and the fans have every right to be disappointed with the performances they are seeing. I'm just as disappointed and will be doing everything to make sure that changes."

The Millers aim to make amends away to next-to-bottom Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday.
