Invite to football trials

ABOUT to leave school this summer? Got a talent for football?

The GOAL programme, a special soccer programme at Thomas Rotherham College linked to Rotherham United, is holding trials on Saturday for 16-year-olds.

The scheme is set up for, but is not exclusive to, players who were released from a professional team so that their progress can still be monitored while gaining academic qualifications. This involves nine hours a week of specialist football training.

Coached by Millers youth coach Matt Hamshaw, the Rotherham team are currently top of the Regional English Colleges FA League and reached the semi-finals of the national cup.
