I'll fight to keep duo, says Scott

ROTHERHAM United face a fight to keep Ryan Taylor and Nicky Law.

Manager Andy Scott says there has been a lot of interest from other clubs in the players, who are both out of contract.

The pair have been offered good deals to stay but striker Taylor and midfielder Law, who was named in the PFA League Two Team of the Year, want to play at a higher level.

Scott said: "The deals we have offered them are both at the top end of our wage scale and are representative of how important they are to us.

"I am trying to persuade them that this is the best place for them to get into League One and forge a career but obviously sometimes with the financial rewards on offer I cannot blame any of the lads for looking elsewhere. Hopefully it will come around that they stay."

Meanwhile, defender Dale Tonge and midfielder Jason Taylor are close to penning new contracts.
