Hunt is on for female referees

ASPIRING female referees are being given the chance to shine.

Sheffield and Hallamshire FA are running a three-day Female Only Basic Referee Course in 2011 at Wickersley Sports College covering the laws of the game and the principles of refereeing.

The course fee will be subsidised at £50 (usually £80) and sessions are open to females 14 years and over who want to become referees of the 11-a-side game both in adult and youth football for either male or females.

Dates are Sunday, May 15 (9am-4pm), Sunday, May 22 (9am-4pm, including written examination), and Wednesday, May 25 (6pm-9pm, including practical examination)
