Hockey men are promoted

After a long season it all came down to the last game, when a win would see Rotherham assured of promotion at the first time of asking following their relegation last term.

The battle at the top was that tight that anything less than full points against visitors Hull University would mean Rotherham needed other results to go their way to secure a top-two finish.

But with the club holding its annual President’s Day there were plenty of people on the side-lines looking to cheer on the side on — and they responded magnificently to romp home 5-0 to take second place.
