Great away day for Millers

ROTHERHAM United stretched their unbeaten league run to six games and bagged an early Christmas present with a battling victory at Bristol City.

Goals from Nouha Dicko and Ben Pringle, both in the first half hour, put the Millers in command but they had to withstand pressure in the second period and conceded late on before sealing a 2-1 win.

Dicko pounced inside the first couple of minutes, poking home with the aid of a deflection after goalkeeper Elliott Parish parried from Kieran Agard. It was the Wigan loan man’s fourth goal in games.

Rotherham rammed home their first-half domination when they struck on the counter attack on 26 minutes. Lee Frecklington ran virtually the length of the field and laid the ball back for Ben Pringle to pick his spot from just inside the penalty area.

City piled forward in the second half, with Greg Cunningham spooning over two decent chances and Adam Collin foiling Marvin Elliott.

A cross from substitute Bobby Reid sneaked inside the far post to set up a grandstand finish but Rotherham saw the game out to maintain their place in the League One play-off frame.
