Gilbank on world quest

ROTHERHAM’S Mark Gilbank looks to seal his place in next month’s Formula 1 World Championship final when he races on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Brinsworth driver lines up on the on the outside grid of the sixth row at Belle Vue (4.30pm) and will be hopeful of a top-ten finish to become Rotherham's second representative in the World Final at Northampton on September 10. Paul Harrison came through the first semi-final at Skegness last month.

Meanwhile, Harrison will take part in the 2011 season shoot-out series which begins at Birmingham tomorrow (6.30pm) and runs over ten rounds for the top 12 points-scoring drivers.

Harrison begins the shoot-out in sixth place on 43 points.
