Funeral of ex-Millers ace

A skilful inside forward who played for the club from 1959-63, Alan died last week, aged 74.

He was a key figure in the famous FA Cup win over Arsenal in 1960 and also scored in the first ever League Cup final when the Millers beat Aston Villa 2-0 in the first leg at Millmoor.

Altogether he made 168 appearances in all competitions, scoring 63 goals.

Alan's family have made public the funeral arrangements should any friends wish to attend.

It is at Overdale Crematorium (West Chapel), Overdale Drive (off Chorley New Road), Bolton, BL1 5BU, starting at 3pm.
