Frustrated Titans rue ref's decision

FRUSTRATED Rotherham came away pointless from Ashton Gate - but came within an ace of notching a shock win.

Leaders Bristol kept up their 100 per cent record with a 26-17 victory but had to thank the referee for nullifying a try on the hour when Jordan Davies picked off an interception from a wayward pass and raced gleefully to the line, only for referee Luke Pearce to pull play back for an earlier infringement.

Had it been allowed, Titans would have led 17-12 and furthur salt was rbbed into the wounds when Glen Townson scored a killer home try almost from the restart.

But Rotherham will take consolation from pushing Bristol right to the wire. Said coach Lee Blackett: "I thought the effort the boys put in was outstanding."
