Freeman to get his chance

TITANS will give forward Toby Freeman a chance to prove a point tonight after Laurence Pearce was this week banned for four games for alleged stamping and raking.

The big no.8 was cited after Saturday’s win over Nottingham and was found guilty at a RFU disciplinary tribunal in Leeds on Tuesday.

Pearce, who was again watched by Leicester Tigers on Saturday, pleaded not guilty and had video evidence to support his cause but the panel handed him a harsh four-week suspension and ordered him to pay £250 towards the hearing costs. The Humbersider, who ironically was a product of the Nottingham Academy, can’t now play until the home game against Cornish Pirates on January 4 and, apart from tonight’s game, also missed the British and Irish Cup games against Llanelli and the Boxing Day tussle with Bedford.

Alfie To’oala will start at Plymouth and coach Lee Blackett is expected to give Freeman, who has struggled for game time this year, to be unleashed from the bench.
