Free netball taster sessions on offer

CALLING all youngstrers. Fancy trying your hand at netball?

Places are still available for free fetball taster sessions at DVC Sports, based at Dearne Valley College (DVC).

The fun sessions are for children aged 8-11 and aim to create awareness for youngsters who may be interested in playing netball but were unaware of the club and to offer opportunities to play in a netball team.

Mandy Fuller will lead the free sessions on Thursday, September 23 and Thursday, September 30 from 4pm-5pm involving ball control, co-ordination, positioning, shooting, balance, fitness, netball tactics and techniques and team work.

Shaun Woodward, DVC Sports Business and Partnership Development Officer, said: "This is an excellent opportunity for youngsters to sample the netball club coaching programme. "The free sessions will give children an excellent insight into the game through developing their skills and knowledge whilst learning from experienced coaches".

Children can attend one of the free sessions with places limited to 35 per session on a first come, first serve basis. Youngsters need to take with them a change of comfortable kit, trainers and a drink.
