Frecklington caps Millers comeback

LEE Frecklington struck in injury time to earn Rotherham United a point at Crewe Alexandra on their big return to League One.

The midfielder arrowed a long-range effort into the top corner of the net to seal a brave comeback from 3-1 down with five minutes to go. Ben Pringle had fired hopes of a revival when curling inside the far post just moments earlier.

Two goals in the opening nine minutes from Anthony Grant and Max Clayton had Crewe into control before Frecklington swooped with his first of the afternoon to complete a rush of three goals in ten minutes.

When Harry Davis slotted home from the penalty spot after Ryan Colclough teased a foul from young right-back Richard Brindley two minutes into the second half, Rotherham looked beaten.

But with new boy Matt Tubbs and Kieran Agard introduced to the action and roared on by nearly 1,400 supporters, they pushed Crewe back and Alex Revell and Tubbs went close before Pringle and Frecklington pounced to make it 3-3.
