ROTHERHAM United didn't keep trialist Sullay Kaikai waiting as they deliberated over adding him to their squad for the forthcoming Championship campaign.

The winger played in two friendlies during his spell with the Millers, the final one of which was Saturday's 4-2 triumph at League Two Mansfield Town.

They quickly delivered their verdict that he hadn't done enough to earn a deal at AESSEAL New York Stadium and the 27-year-old today signed a 12-month contract with League One Cambridge United.

Kaikai came through the ranks at Premier League Crystal Palace and has since gone on to spend most of his 228-game career in the third tier. He was a free agent after leaving MK Dons at the end of last season.

Speaking last week, Rotherham manager Matt Taylor promised the club would make a quick decision:

"We don't want to hang around because Sullay has got other clubs waiting on ourselves and his situation," he said.
