ROTHERHAM United are on the hunt for three more new signings to complete their transfer-window recruitment after today confirming Christ Tiehi had joined them on a three-year deal.

In addition to the midfielder, the Millers want another striker, centre-half and someone who can play on the flank.

Manager Matt Taylor confirmed to the Advertiser that loan offers have been tabled to Premier League clubs for a central defender and a wide man.

“We're also assessing the Championship and other markets,” he said.

A centre-forward could come in on a permanent or loan contract.

The boss has already revealed that some Rotherham fringe players, including left-back Tolaji Bola, will be allowed to leave on loan, but departures are highly unlikely while the Millers have so many players in the treatment room.

“We've got to keep bodies in the building until we have more people available,” he said. “We've not filled the bench properly this season yet and we might not be able to do so again this weekend (at Sunderland).

“No-one will go out yet unless something significant comes in and we don't want to risk losing out on an offer. We are aware we have to keep a competitive team out there first and foremost."

Central defender Jamie McCart – like Bola, signed by previous manager Paul  Warne –  is another player who may not feature in Taylor’s thinking.

The window closes a fortnight today, on September 1.

Tiehi is the tenth signing of the summer, including the four players from last season's Championship survival push who agreed new one-year deals after becoming free agents.
