Rotherham United boss Paul Warne wants new signing Cohen Bramall to realise his full potential

ROTHERHAM United chief Paul Warne says new signing Cohen Bramall has hunger and plenty of untapped potential.

The Millers have paid an undisclosed fee to bring the versatile left-sided operator to AESSEAL New York Stadium. He has signed a three-year deal.

The 26-year-old started out as a pro at Arsenal before enhancing his reputation in a two-year stay at Colchester United.

Warne noticed Bramall there and also during his time at Lincoln, where he totted up more than 50 appearances after joining them for an undisclosed fee early last year.

"He's a player I wanted to sign when he left Colchester for Lincoln," said Warne.

"He's also a player who I still think has something to prove. I don't think he has reached his full potential.

"He's caused us problems in the games we've played against him and always managed to stick with Chieo (Ogbene), which is some achievement.

"He's a good kid. He can play left-back, left wing back, left wing and with the departure of Joe Mattock and Mickel Miller, that was part of the pitch we needed to strengthen in."

The move to Rotherham means a step up to the Championship for Bramall, although he did have a fleeting taste of it during a loan spell at Birmingham City five years ago.

Warne added: "We'll simplify what we want him to do. We want him to be agressive and on the front foot and I think he fits that criteria really well.

"He's got a bit of pace and as you go through the league, the pace gets more intense.

"Hopefully he will be a good fit."

Bramall becomes the club's fifth signing of the summer.

Strikers Conor Washington and Tom Eaves, right wing-back Peter Kioso and centre-half Jamie McCart are already on board.
