Millers midfielder in provisional Ireland squad

PAUL Green has received a call-up to the Republic of Ireland's provisional squad for friendlies against Switzerland and Slovakia in March.

PAUL Green has received a call-up to the Republic of Ireland's provisional squad for friendlies against Switzerland and Slovakia this month.

The 32-year-old Millers midfielder is part of a 40-man squad which will be shortened ahead of a training camp on March 20.

Green will be hoping to build on his 20 appearances and one goal for Ireland when they entertain Switzerland (March 25) and Slovakia (March 29) at the Aviva Stadium.

The former Leeds United and Ipswich man has made 24 appearances for the Millers this term and his last outing came in the 2-1 win over Brentford as a late substitute.
