SUMMER signing Cafu will be available for Rotherham United's Championship clash against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday despite his opening-day sending-off on his Millers debut.

The summer signing incurred a one-match suspension after being shown two yellow cards and dismissed during the defeat at Stoke City last weekend.

However, under FA rules, he is allowed to serve that ban in tonight's Carabao Cup first-round clash against Morecambe at AESSEAL New York Stadium, freeing him up for selection for the visit of Blackburn.

The 30-year-old received his second caution at the bet365 Stadium in the 70th minute for what looked like a fair challenge and he couldn't believe he'd received his marching orders from referee John Busby.

"I thought it was harsh," said manager Matt Taylor. "I know 'Caf' goes to ground but he doesn't lift his feet and he wins the ball cleanly."

The Millers will rest some of their senior men this evening if they can but injuries to six players mean Taylor's options are limited.

League Two Morecambe are looking to win for the third time in three Carabao Cup visits to New York since 2016.
