BREAKING: Millers capture Forde

ROTHERHAM United have made their first signing under new boss Alan Stubbs with Anthony Forde joining from League One club Walsall for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old winger has been one of the Saddlers' shining lights over the last few seasons and joins the Millers on a three-year-deal.

Forde operates predominantly on the right of midfield and the former Wolves man has clocked up 78 appearances for Walsall in which he registered seven goals in two years.

He helped the Midlands club to a third placed finish in England's third tier last season, before they were eliminated in the play-off semi-final following a heavy defeat to Barnsley over two legs.

Meanwhile, Stubbs has taken charge of his first training session as Millers boss today as the squad returned for the start of pre-season training.

There are pictures from the first day at Roundwood and more from Stubbs in this week's Advertiser.
