The sessions at Kilnhurst Primary School was organised by headteacher Ryan Cousins, ward member Cllr Stuart Sansome and SJD Sports owner Simon Dungworth.

Cllr Sansome said: “The cost of living crisis has been making times difficult this year, so to try and help families in Kilnhurst & Swinton East ward during the school holidays, I've been really pleased to have committed a very sizeable chunk of my Community Leadership Fund.

“It is well-known there are pockets of severe areas of deprivation across the borough. Kilnhurst and the Fitzwilliam estate are two such areas were families are really struggling with the current cost of living crisis.

“The take up of children from across the rest of Swinton and outlying areas is going very well.”

The cash went on 30 places for youngsters from Kilnhurst Primary, Kilnhurst St Thomas and Brookfield Academy.
