Excellent tournament for Willett

DANNY Willett had another excellent finish in the inaugural Czech Open played in Prague.

The Rotherham pro was up among the leaders after his opening 68 but fell back into the pack following a 75, a Saturday 72 followed by a closing 68 on Sunday.

It left him on -5, seven shots behind winner Jamie Donaldson.

Willett has opted to miss this week's Italian Open, an event that sees Paul Mcginleys Ryder Cup team finalised for the matches that take place in September.

Dan is next in action at the Omega European Masters in Crans-Sur-Sierre, Switzerland.

lThe Sheffield Golf Alliance winter fixtures get under way in October with the opener at Hillsborough on the first Monday.

Entries are not yet being taken but keep an eye on the Alliance website as bookings for the first event are always taken up quickly.

Fixtures for the other winter dates will be released as and when they are arranged.
